Your freshly thrown pot, before it is put in the first firing, is called greenware.
Your pot, after it has gone through the first cone 04 through 06 firing, is called bisqueware.
Slip can go on the outside of greenware, but not on the outside of bisque ware. Underglaze can go on either.
If you are buying glazes from a store, you need to buy cone 5 or cone 6 glazes, not cone 05 or 06.
