Studio neutral. Be courteous and sensitive to other people when you’re having conversations. Keep politics out of the studio.
Leave the studio cleaner than when you got there. All students are required to watch the Cleaning Expectations video and adhere to the studio standards.
Open studios should end as scheduled. Do not linger longer than a few minutes. Students MUST begin clean-up 15 minutes prior to the end of open studio, and assist the monitors in cleaning the entire studio, including wiping down tables, glaze buckets and glazing area, and sinks.
In general, students should not touch each other‘s Pottery unless you have permission from the owner.
If you use the studio bats, understand that we share these bats and instructors might remove your pot from the bat when they are needed.
If you enjoy Facebook, ask to join Arthaus Pottery Classes to enjoy conversations and pictures
As a student, you are welcome to attend any Open Studios. They are listed on the calendar.
With each session of classes, you get a 25 pound bag of clay included. Additional bags of clay are $40. If you need a new bag of clay, you must do it during your class. Clay is not distributed during Open Studios.
Please sign your Pottery. And put your signature on the board on the bathroom door. We have so much Pottery going through the studio that a few people assist in putting the pottery away using the signatures.
Pay attention to the calendar dates for renewing for the next class. Registration will open four weeks into the current class. This gives you a chance to hold your space before it is opened up for the general public.
If you miss a class, contact another teacher to see if there’s room in their class to make it up. Make-ups do not accrue and must be made during the session.
Please visit the glazing section of this website and watch the instructional video to learn about glazing, and glazing expectations at the studio.
